Boss drives his people
Leader coaches them.

Boss depends on authority
Leader depends on good will.

Boss inspires fear
Leader inspires enthusiasm.

Boss says “I”
Leader says “We”.

Boss says “get here on time”
Leader gets there ahead of time.

Boss fixes blame for the breakdown
Leader fixes the breakdown.

Boss knows how it is done
Leader shows how it is done.

Boss says “Go”
Leader says “Let’s GO”.

Boss uses people
Leader develops them.

Boss sees today
Leader also looks at tomorrow.

Boss commands
Leader asks.

Boss never has enough time
Leader makes time for things that count.

Boss is concerned with things
Leader is concerned with people.

Boss lets people know where he stands
Leader lets his people know where they stand.

Boss works hard to produce
Leader works hard to help his people produce.

Boss takes credit
Leader gives it.

Boss creates fear
Leader creates confidence

Boss knows how
Leader shows how

Boss fixes blame
Leader fixes mistakes

Boss drives
Leader leads

Boss relies on authority
Leader relies on cooperation

Bossism creates resentment
Leadership creates enthusiasm

Boss makes work drudgery
Leader makes it a game

And for a Boss to become a leader he should have 4 E’s :

1. Enthusiasm

2. Energy

3. Edge

4. Execution

What is important as a leader is not what your team does in your presence, it is what happens in your absence.

AB’s Stroke: Leader can be boss…but never a boss will be come a leader or mentor……Now dont ask me if i am a boss or a leader….its upto my team..and all the people who worked with me to decide…..Guys….if you write a negative comment..i am looking…and watching…..i always wanted team to take initiatives, no matter what ever the result is, as this will make them part of decision making process…once you make mistake..twice you make mistake…but later you learn and never make…..so..that mean your team has optimum decision makers…..wooooo thats what you call team….then you will become LEADER…..
