The reason why i was so angry that people are not remembering Netaji is that, yesterday at the only our PM and the leader of Opposition and 3 or 5 MP’s were present to pay homage to Netaji’s Picture in parliament hall………..that means all our so called Member Of Parliment’s are very busy….or they have forgotten……Can the Congress leaders dare to forget Indira Gandhi’s or Rajiv Gandhi’s Birthday, or thier respective Party leaders……….I have atmost respect for Indira Gandhi and Rajive Gandhi…i am just mentioning…….

Lets hope that these MP’s were busy doing something for public…or God Knows what made these MP’s Busy….

Yesterday was Subhash Chandra Bose’s or whom we call NETAJI’s 114th Birth Anniversary……How many people do know this, i will not ask how many people do know who is Netaji….We dont even bother to think about the Greats…. If he was Ex PM or EX CM then there would have been much fanfare on this Birth Anniverasry….or If he would have been a Caste Leader, then it would have been widely celebrated…..But he is not any of the above….He was a Person Who’s single Goal was to Free India from British and who founded INA..or AZAD HIND FAUJ…..So he is not remembered, properly….

Let me write what all i know and what all i gathered about the GREATEST HERO of INDIA…Shri NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE….

Born on 23rd Jan 1897 in Cuttak, Orrisa, Born to Shri Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Devi  and born  in a very rich and very influential family. His father was a very famous Lawyer, Netaji was 9th among 14 children, he had 7 brothers and 6 sisters. Netaji  was a brilliant student right  topped the matriculation examination of Calcutta province and graduated with a First Class in Philosophy (BA) from the Scottish Churches College in Calcutta. He was strongly influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and was known for his patriotic zeal as a student….where he even hit (Not hit…he litterally Thrashed) a teacher…who made racist remarks against Indian students…….he was debarred from college for this……. Went to England in 1919 to compete for Indian Civil Services, where he topped 4th in that….  netajai left his Civil Services midway to return to India in 1921 after jailinwala bagh incident and his zeal for Indian Independence, pulled him back to india.

He was closely working with Shri Chittaranjan Das, who was a big leader and who was one of the founding members of Indian National Congress….he was very famous for his Organizational Skills and he motivated youth and labour…he became very prominent in congress…..

Netaji  was a revolutionary  leader with a strong sense of humanity . He did not have much faith in Gandhijis ‘non-violent’ campaign to free India from  an  oppressive and colonial power. He had the strong understanding  that  the colonial British power must be challenged  by a strong patriotic Indian liberation army to hasten  independence. British  perceived Netaji  as a potential source of danger and had him arrested many a times since 1924. He  was  released from Mandalay jail in 1927,and upon  return to Calcutta,  Netaji was elected President of the Bengal Congress Committee on October 27, 1927. ….

He traveled Europe..met mayleader….and aksed their help for Indian Independence…He was elected President of Indian National Congress at thee Haripura Session in 1938. During his term as Congress President, he talked of planning in concrete terms, and set up a National planning Committee in October that year. At the end of his first term, the presidential election to the Tripuri Congress session took place early 1939. Netaji’s actions and ideologies were termed ‘far too leftist’ by Gandhiji and all the biggies of Congress…….Despite opposition from the Congress brass, Netaji was a favorite amongst the majority as he was re-elected for a second term in March 1939… defeating Dr. Pattabhi Sitaramayya who had been backed by Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress Working Committee……….Gandhiji considered Netaji’s victory as his ‘personal defeat’ and went on a fast . Netaji resigned as  a mark of respect to Gandhiji. And then formed the Forward Bloc in 1939…..

Netaji, started a mass movement against utilizing Indian resources and men for the war. ….people started responding in big way…There was a tremendous response to his call and he was put under house arrest in Calcutta…..and from here he escaped to Peshawar and from there to Afghanistan and from there went to Germany….he met Hitler and submitted a memorandum to the German government on 9th April 1941 which outlined a plan for co-operation between the Axis powers and India…..finally germany agreed to help Netaji…..he went on the princple..ENEMY”S ENEMY IS FRIEND…..

Bose married his Austrian secretary Emilie Schenkl  in 1937. Their only daughter, Anita Bose Pfaff born in 1942, is an economist …

In July 1943, he arrived in Singapore from Germany. In Singapore he took over the reins of the Indian Independence Movement in East Asia from Rash Behari Bose and organised the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army) comprising mainly of Indian prisoners of war……It had 85,000 regular troops, including a separate women’s unit, the Rani of Jhansi Regiment (named after Rani Lakshmi Bai) headed by Capt. Lakshmi Swaminathan, which is seen as a first of its kind in Asia. He was hailed as Netaji by the Army as well as by the Indian civilian population in East Asia. Azad Hind Fauj proceeded towards India to liberate it from British rule. Enroute it lliberated Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The I.N.A. Head quarters was shifted to Rangoon in January 1944. Azad Hind Fauj crossed the Burma Border, and stood on Indian soil on March 18 ,1944…………He stood…but after japan surrendering, INA had lost the backing and later all the solider surrendered………..

Bose’s most famous quote was “Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom!” In this, he urged the people of India to join him in his fight against the British Raj. Spoken in Hindi, Bose’s words are highly evocative….apart from that his other famous quote was “Chalo Delhi”

Netaji is alleged to have died in a plane crash Taihoku (Taipei), Taiwan, on 18 August 1945 while en route to Tokyo . The Japanese plane he was travelling on had engine trouble and when it crashed Bose was badly burned, dying in a local hospital four hours later. His body was then cremated……..There have so many theories been put forward regarding his abrupt desertion. The government of India set up a number of committees to investigate the case and come out with truth…..but still this remains a mystery.

So Saluting this Great Man…Great Leader…Great Patriot….And the Greatest SON OF INDIA…..

Plz do check for the pictorial  Tribute of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the next post………

Hi today We celebrate the 63rd Year of  our National Flag…The design of the National Flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 22 July 1947…. And all of us do carry the Flag Very proudly… But How many people do know who has Designed…most of you dont even know this…He is SRI Pingali Venkayya Garu.

Sri Pingali Venkayya Garu

Sri Pingali Venkayya Garu

Sri Pingali Venkayya Garu is also Know as Diamond Venkayya , Patti Venkayya (Cotton Venkayya). Born on August 2, 1876 to Hanumantharayudu and Venkataratnamma at Bhatlapennumaru in the Divi taluk in Krishna district Andhra Pradesh. After finishing his primary education at Challapalli and school at the Hindu High School, Machilipatnam, he went to Colombo to complete his Senior Cambridge. Enthused by patriotic zeal, he enlisted himself for the Boer war at 19. While in Africa he met Gandhi, and their rapport lasted for more than half a century. His patriotic zeal, however, did not permit him to stagnate in a permanent job ( He worked as railway Guard), and his quest for education took him to Lahore where he joined the Anglo-Vedic College, and learnt Japanese and Urdu and History.

From 1906 to 1911, Pingali spent most of his time researching staple varieties of crops and came up with a study on a special variety called Cambodia Cotton. With the British rulers taking notice of his study, Pingali came to be known as Patti Venkayya (literally ‘Cotton Venkayya’).He was immensely knowledgeable in geology and obtained a doctorate in it. He was an authority on diamond mining in Andhra Pradesh and was popularly known as ‘Diamond Venkayya’. Returning to Masulipatnam, he spent 5 years 1916-21 researching flags of 30 countries and finally came up with the present tricolor. However, the flag of the Vandmataram movement is sometimes thought to be the antecedent of Venkayya’s tricolor.

Gandhian Pingali Venkaiah lived in poverty all his life. And even before his death in 1963 in a hut in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, the family was in tatters with the kin hardly knowing the whereabouts of one another. There is not even a memorial in his hometown Machilipatnam to the man who made such an important contribution to the nation. It was only a few years ago that his daughter began to receive pension from the government. There is not even a memorial in his hometown Machilipatnam to the man who brought such glory to Andhra. Even the original house has been razed to the ground.

He entered the record books by winning the elections with a record majority of 5 lakh votes.

PV  became the prime minister when Indian economy was in bad shape. It was very difficult at the time to introduce new ideas, new philosophies, and to convince people to support him on something untested. The Indian public and politicians at the time did not believe that they could try something new and get out of the mess but PV persisted and persevered. PV will always be remembered for pioneering far-reaching economic changes in India, which took India on a new economic path.

PV is credited with launching free market reforms that opened up India’s stagnant, socialist economy. The shift turned the bankrupt nation into a regional economic powerhouse. According to government figures, India’s economy has posted an average growth rate of six percent since 1990 and poverty rates have fallen by 10 percent.

During his tenure he had many achievements but the one which revitalized India’s economy was the abolition of the License Raj in 1990. He introduced economic reforms like abolishing licensing regulations to attract FDI and private businesses.
During his tenure, Jammu and Kashmir was torn apart by terrorist activity. He introducing the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA).

He was minister (1962-71) and chief minister (1971-73) in AP. And from 1980-89 several cabinet posts between 1980-89 under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi , including foreign affairs minister and the defence minister. He became Prime Minister of India under most dramatic Condition..and was successfully able to complete his Term..running a Minority Government.

He could speak 13 languages including Urdu, Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Sanskrit and Oriya with a fluency akin to a native speaker His mother tongue was Telugu. In addition to eight Indian languages, he spoke English, French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Greek, Latin and Persian.
